Create Blind Sales Exchange
The Blind Sales Exchange is the most flexible transaction type in Agora, allowing for an exchange where the items being returned are not linked to a previous invoice.
Overview
The Blind Sales Exchange is a powerful "Hybrid" interface designed for maximum flexibility. It allows you to process a return and a new sale simultaneously, even when no original invoice is present.
Dual-Column Workflow:
- Returning Items (Left): Add items being brought back. You must manually set the Return Price and Cost for these items since there is no historical invoice to reference.
- Purchasing Items (Right): Add the new items the customer is acquiring. These follow the standard system pricing and inventory rules.
Process Flow
1. Identify Participants
Select the customer (optional but recommended for blind transactions) and the account for settlement.
2. Balance the Transaction
As you add items to both sides, the system live-calculates the Net Balance. The header clearly displays whether the customer needs to pay a difference or if the store owes a refund.
3. Final Settlement
Finalize the transaction by selecting the payment method for the balance. Once completed, the returning items are restocked, and the new items are deducted from inventory.
Use Cases
- Exchange of legacy items: Items sold before the implementation of Agora.
- Gift Exchanges: Where the original purchase details are unavailable.
- Corrective Transactions: Adjusting inventory and finances when standard paths are blocked.
Real-World Use Cases
- Gift Exchanges: A customer exchanging an unwanted birthday gift without a receipt for another item of equal or greater value within the store.
