The General Ledger (GL) is the master record of every financial transaction that occurs within Agora. While specialized reports (like AR or Inventory Valuation) provide summarized views, the General Ledger report gives accountants raw, unfiltered access to the underlying debits and credits.
GL Transaction Reporting
The General Ledger report provides a detailed, chronological listing of journal entries, offering maximum transparency into system operations.
Key Features:
- Deep Filtering: Filter the ledger by specific Account ranges, specific Date Ranges, or specific Transaction Types (e.g., only show journal entries related to Sales Invoices).
- Full Transaction Detail: Every line displays the Posting Date, specific GL Account hit, a descriptive memo, the Debit amount, the Credit amount, and the resulting running Balance.
Real-World Use Cases
- Expense Auditing: An accountant filtering the GL report to show all transactions hitting the "6200 - Office Supplies" account for the year to verify that no personal expenses were accidentally categorized there.
- Reconciliation Discrepancies: When a bank reconciliation fails to balance, the finance team exports the GL report for the specific Cash account to identify the exact missing or duplicated entry.
